Ada got up and glared at him. “So, your priorities don’t include me?”

Exasperated, she stormed out of the den to their bedroom.

I thought he loved me. Does he even care about me? How can my husband be so cruel?

Ben was upset, but stared at the TV as the thoughts and emotions churned inside his brain. She is so unreasonable. I had a miserable day at work. Doesn’t she even care? How could she just storm in here like that and demand that I listen to her? She used to be interested in me. She was understanding. When I came home, she would ask about my day and encourage me to relax. Now she only wants to talk about herself. When did she become so self-centered?

Who We Are and Why We are Teaching This Course

Jesse and Melva Johnson Hello, we are Jesse Johnson and Melva Thomas Johnson. We have been happily married and working together as licensed relationship therapists and counselors for over 30 years. We, like most couples, started our life journey together expecting that we would always feel loving toward other, would have a happy home and family life, that we would be blessed with an abundance of whatever we needed and desired, and that our lives would be directed by spiritual principles. Not long into our marriage, we became aware that a mutually happy and fulfilling relationship wasn’t that easy – that there were problems we didn’t know how to solve, conversations that didn’t go anywhere, and conflicts we just didn’t’ know how to resolve. But, we were determined to find the answers because we loved each other and wanted our marriage to work.

We embarked upon a mission to keep our marriage on track. We read hundreds of books, heard a great many lectures and presentations from the experts, attended lots of seminars and workshops. We continue to uncover things about ourselves and each other that had triggered our conflicts. We learned ways to communicate better, to resolve conflicts, to work together cooperatively, and ultimately, we were able to create the relationship of our dreams

We believe that our life journey was purposeful – not just for the two of us. We realize that our path was to share this information with other couples who also want to have magnificent relationships too! This is our work – our mission.
